Volunteering at P&H

Volunteering at P&H

Volunteers are the lifeblood of Scouting. P&H is entirely run by volunteers, from front line leaders to grounds maintenance. With over 350 young people a week in P+H based sections and the broad spectrum of activities that we support, there is a huge amount of work to do.
All parents are expected to be engaged with Scouting at P&H. This will  include supporting specific activities, helping at camps and event and attending our Big Help Outs.
Some of our volunteers give significantly more time than that. Broadly this falls into three categories;
  • Leaders of a weekly group
  • Members of the Phoenix Service team which undertakes all fundraising, back office / admin and maintenance functions
  • Adventurous activities leads that bring specialist skills such as watersports or hill walking and help each of the sections put on these activities.
For those that are parents, to recognise these people that give up so much time, places within P&H are always prioritised for the children of those that take on a role that supports us for more than 2 hours a week.
